What is nottoobad? A financial-conscience chat, not a price-comparison bot. Describe a purchase or paste a product link and it asks the questions you'd ask yourself — do you need it, is there a cheaper or second-hand alternative, what does it cost in hours of your working life — before giving an honest buy / wait / skip verdict.
Is it free? Yes. The first session is completely free, verdict included — even when the verdict is “don't buy it.” The paywall, if any, only ever comes after that value, never before it.
Do you make money if I buy something? Some recommended links may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. The verdict logic never sees or considers commission — it recommends on merit (need, price, condition) and the link is filled in afterwards from whatever it already chose. It is never nudged to prefer a commissioned option.
Is it just a general chatbot? No. It only discusses purchase decisions and their impact on your personal finances, and declines topics outside that scope.
Do I have to share my financial details? No. Money questions like your hourly rate or savings goals are strictly opt-in — the conscience never asks for them on its own initiative; you only get that angle if you bring it up.
